Eaton's IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Distribution Supervisor. This position is based at our Indianapolis, IN distribution center.

The Distribution Supervisor will provide leadership and direction to one of the areas selected (Kitting, Auto/Metering and or Aftermarket outbound dock) overseeing the following positions, leads, packers and material handlers. This position will coordinate activities and resources per established practices and/or policies within the job area to ensure the daily targets are met or exceeded in a safe manner while meeting quality expectations. In this role, you will establish and maintain a positive employee relations environment by adherence to Eaton's Values, Ethics and Philosophies.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $80250.03 - $117700.04 a year.

What you'll do:

  • Proactively implement, promote, and maintain a safe working environment through diligence in accident prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance, and policy enforcement
  • Ensure department work areas are kept clean, organized, and orderly per 5S standards.
  • Manage operational process to track and understand key operational metrics and develop action plans to improve operational performance.
  • Increase employee engagement and accountability to create a high performing culture.
  • Provide input into the daily manning strategy and manage time and attendance (attendance, overtime, vacation, etc.) to ensure manning needs can be met.
  • Drive continuous improvement programs and process improvements by applying the Eaton Business System and problem-solving tools.
  • Lead tier 1 meetings and participate in tier 2 meetings and daily accountability tracking.
  • Ensure employees have a solid understanding of individual goals/metrics and provide coaching as needed.
  • Provide back up support for various roles in department as needed to ensure daily targets are achieved.
  • Collaborate with cross functional team members to resolve customer complaints internally and externally and drive root cause analysis.
  • Oversee outbound freight scheduling and ensure timeliness responses with carriers.
  • Comply with all quality and inspection procedures by partnering with quality resources on reporting all suspect freight and damaged material upon receipt.

Qualifications:

Required Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
• Minimum of three (3) years experience in manufacturing receiving, warehouse and/or distribution environment.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future
• No relocation is available for this position. Only candidates that reside within 50 miles of Indianapolis, IN will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Five years of experience in warehouse/distribution center environment
• Experience in receiving (as clerk, team member or supervisor)
• Oracle ERP and WMS experience

Skills:

  • Must be able to work specific shift hours and have flexibility to work overtime based on location demand.
  • Forklift certification
  • Extensive knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems
  • Effective oral and written communication
  • Proficient in MS Office
