Eaton's B-LINE division is currently seeking a Distribution Manager.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $91500.03 - $134200.04 a year.

What you'll do:

  • • Drive team performance to improve on time delivery, reduce ship errors, and improve ship team efficiency.
    • Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth flow of materials, and monitors business trends and economic cycles in order to anticipate change in order flow from customers and material availability from suppliers.
    • Analyze and evaluate inventory and delivery problems and recommends and/or implements solutions to optimize inventory levels and manufacturing schedule.

• Evaluate work performance of the group annually, or as required, in order to facilitate performance management, merit promotions, transfers, dismissals, commendations, etc.
• Comply with all safety and industrial hygiene requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner. Understand and meet all departmental safety objectives and goals.
• Keep assigned work-area clean and organized per 5S standards
• Devise methods and policies to ensure the most economical movement of materials in/out of plant to achieve cost-effective logistics practices. Tools include Lean and Kanban.
• Be a leader & proponent of Zero Incident Culture, focusing on safe processes, equipment, and behaviors across the Highland plant.
• Develop, forecast, and control inventory levels based on sales forecasts and other commitments in order to balance inventory with production requirements.
• Develop & execute PFEP (Plan For Every Part) strategy, continuously improving inventory, premium freight, and material availability.
• Drive creative inventory strategies to optimize inventory levels and reduce costs.
• Receive and carry out work assignments from management and internal customers so as to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner. Closely follow established procedures for completing assigned function and perform special assignments and/or projects as assigned.
• Work with members of a team to effectively complete work assignment. Receive information from team members regarding customer needs and product requirements and utilize this information to perform one's function.
• Perform Lean Initiatives by recommending suggestions for improvement related to quality, work processes, and environmental safety and health.
• Exhibit a strong adherence to quality by continually seeking methods of improvement for all functions of the position.
• Determine materials requirements needed to meet production schedules, inventory levels, and shipment demands to achieve on-time production and inventory management requirements. (Might remove)
• Lead supplier performance management activities to improve delivery, lead time, & overall service level for internal and external suppliers.
Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum three (3) years of Supply Chain experience in a manufacturing business.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Highland facility (50-mile radius) will be considered for this position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in supply chain management.
  • Working knowledge of Lean concepts.
  • 4 or more years of experience in supply chain management
  • 3 or more years of experience managing a team of people
  • SCM Certification (i.e. - APICS CPIM, etc...)

Skills:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills. Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.
• Relevant computer skills (Microsoft Office suite, compliance software)
• Implementation experience with basic concepts of planning and lean material flow ( Pull systems, kanban, MRP, Schedule sequencing & level loading, inventory modeling, JIT, etc. )
• SAP business system experience

• Demonstrated success as a leader of projects and processes related to material management.

Expected to work with some degree of independence and make decisions that affect the workgroup. Focus efforts on attaining assigned goals and objectives, which include meeting needs and expectations of internal and external customers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; reach at or above shoulder level; grip; and use hands to handle and feel. The employee is frequently required to walk; stoop; lift; carry; push; pull; and grip. The employee is frequently required to lift/carry up to 35 pounds. The employee is frequently required to push/pull up to or greater than 35 pounds. The vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to listen and to talk.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to noise and frequently exposed to dust.
