Opportunity overview
The Eaton Aerospace Sales Leadership Development program is an exciting learning and development opportunity that will prepare you to sell hydraulic, fuel, electrical, power motion and fluid conveyance products, solutions, and value in a competitive marketplace to OEMs, distributors, and end users.
Program Structure: The program participant will learn the value cycle processes applicable to the highly technical industry. Each participant will develop product knowledge and will be exposed to the management of a large sales team. Participants will work cross-functionally throughout the Aerospace group gaining exposure to senior leaders within the business, key customers, and a globally integrated world class organization.
Rotations: This is a 3-year rotational program with two 6-month assignments in the first year and one assignment per year in years 2 and 3. During the first year, the participant will be assigned to Eaton's Aerospace Headquarters in Irvine, CA working on our marketing, analytics, and business intelligence teams. For the second and third year, the participant will rotate and potentially relocate to a new sales assignment role in one of our U.S. Aerospace hub locations across our divisions. Possible rotations could include:
- Strategy Roles: Support strategy development and execution for market segments, divisions, and channels from an OEM, Aftermarket, and Distributor level. Will focus on learning established and emerging markets and will work with a globally matrixed team to achieve goals on the front end.
- Product Sales Manager Roles: Will support one or more existing or new business platforms, owning proposal, capture and execution. Face to face customer experience and will work with a fully matrixed Integrated Project Team (IPT) to ensure successful program development and execution.
- Field Service/Technical Sales: Fully customer facing role where you will be partnered with a Sales manager within OEM (original equipment manufacturer), Aftermarket, or Distributor segments. Focus on selling products, solutions and value to aircraft manufacturers, aircraft system providers, distributors, and end use customers.
Program Completion: Upon completion of the program, participants will have gained the knowledge needed to transition to key roles where they will leverage their training and extensive network to sell products, solutions and value to aircraft manufacturers, aircraft system providers, distributors, and end customers. Possible roll-off roles could include:
- Senior/Lead Customer Service Representative
- Junior Sales/Product Sales Manager - OEM or Aftermarket
- Field Sales, Sales Support, Technical Sales Support
- Business Development or Marketing Strategy
- Senior Contracts Analyst or Administrator
- Lead Marketing/Business Analyst or Specialist
- Proposal Manager
Critical Skills: The Aerospace Sales Development Program is an invaluable experience for building and cultivating critical skills that will contribute to professional growth. Well-rounded and skilled participants should expect to develop in the following areas: Communication, collaboration, research, critical/strategic thinking, digital focus on tools, sales processes and tools, bid process, external customer facing communication and interaction, and project ownership/management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; Engineering, Business or Marketing from an accredited institution
- 2.8 GPA (3.0 GPA preferred)
- Legally authorized to work in the Unites States without company sponsorship
- Valid U.S. Driver's license
- This position requires the use of information or access to technology which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR/EAR. ITAR/EAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

At Eaton, we strive to provide compensation and benefits that attract, engage, and retain the best talent. This includes competitive pay and a variety of benefit programs for eligible employees. The expected salary for this role is $78,000 annually plus an additional $6,000 hiring bonus and relocation. Participants placed at certain Eaton locations may also be eligible for a geographical differential, paid as a lump sum yearly while in the program.
