As a result of our business growth, we have a new exciting opportunity for a DC Installation & Commissioning - Field Service Engineer (Power Quality) within local Country Service Unit, mainly working in large data center projects.
Providing a first class service for the Eaton installed base products to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and loyalty. Responsible for installation, commissioning, fault finding/repairs & Preventative Maintenance, and supporting the extended EMEA Service community through high level technical knowledge and experience in the field.
What you'll do:
- Data Centre Commissioning Oversight: Oversee commissioning activities for data centers on behalf of Eaton Field Service in the local country service unit;and provide the highest level of technical expertise in Hyperscale commissioning activities.
- Training and Mentorship: Support and train local Field Service Engineers in commissioning activities. Onboard, coach, and mentor new Field Service Engineers joining Eaton.
- Technical Escalations and Support: Manage key account technical escalations, including site visits. Provide support to engineers and customers, driving escalations to conclusion and providing feedback.
- Collaboration with Project Managers: Advise Project Managers on commissioning considerations and assist in selecting suitable engineers. Carry out site visits as required and support high-profile clients with technical advice.
- Health & Safety and Subcontractor Management: Perform Health & Safety audits of Field Service Engineers and subcontractors. Ensure the high standards required by Eaton are maintained.
- Technical Liaison: Maintain direct links with business units (factories) and act as the focal point for all technical exchanges regarding commissioning procedures and testing. Manage subcontractor teams when required.
Qualifications:
- Installer electrical background, suitable education/qualifications
- minimum 5 years in the field focusing on Data Centers/UPS
Skills:
- Fluent Italian and English
- Three phase electrical installation and commissioning experience essential.Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, SNMP, OPC, DDE, TCP/IP an advantage. Programming of PLC control systems (Power Control, Generator Control, SCADA, or process control) an advantage
- Good understanding of switch panels and power distribution. "
