What you'll do:
As Data Protection and Privacy Attorney you will be part of an international team team and responsible for global legal advice on data protection, privacy, and digital laws in Eaton according to the EU and other regulations. In this role you will lead the development and improvement of internal processes, also promote compliance with privacy and digital regulations. Furthermore you will foster a culture of privacy awareness and digital mindset within the organization.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and expand the Data Privacy Champions program, manage day-to-day tasks, including assessments and subject request management.
- Lead various internal process-development and compliance projects, also provide legal advice on related queries.
- Monitor and report on changes in global data protection and privacy regulations, provide statistics for senior leadership.
- Review contracts from a data protection and privacy perspective.
- Co-lead communication and training on data protection and digital laws.
- Identify and drive improvement opportunities in compliance processes.
- Manage relationships with EMEA outside counsel.
- Conduct risk assessments and monitor internal controls.
- Lead and participate in projects to further develop the Privacy Program and support Eaton's digital transformation.
Qualifications:
- Completed education in Law according to EU standards, Doctor of Law is an advantage.
- Several years of experience as legal profession either in-house or within a multinational law firm.
- Relevant knowledge in privacy regulations and data protection areas, CIPP certification a plus.
- Familiarity with global digital regulations (EU Data Act, Digital Services Act, EU AI Act, etc.).
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills in English with strong interpersonal skills dealing with multiple stakeholders at various levels within the organization.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc.) and a strong ability to work with IT tools. Knowledge in OneTrust or other Privacy Management Software a plus.
- Analytical and strategical thinking, adaptability, problem-solving skills, organizational capability.
- Ability to translate complex legal issues and ambiguity into clear, simple and pragmatic advice to non-legal internal colleagues across the company.
- Excels at defining and managing priorities and flexing priorities as required, along with demonstrating strong organizational skills.
- Continuous improvement mindset along with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Operates in an ethical manner and maintains a high level of confidentiality.
