Customer Support Engineer

Eaton's IS VEH VGGP division is currently seeking a Customer Support Engineer. This is a hybrid work opportunity. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Dallas, TX and/or Denton TX.

The Customer Support Engineer is responsible for elevating customer satisfaction by establishing a clear and consistent communication channel and facilitating the transfer of timely, detailed, and accurate technical information to the OEM Engineering Organization. The role involves conveying and enforcement of engineering requirements, to integrate Eaton and ECJV (Eaton Cummins Joint Venture) products into OEM vehicles, in support of a flawless product launch. A critical aspect of this role is to provide Voice of the Customer (VOC) feedback to relevant internal departments, guiding product improvements and development. The role also plays a supportive part in the organization's efforts to meet Eaton and ECJV contractual commitments with the customer.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $105000.03 - $154000.04 a year.

What you'll do:

  • Serve as OEM representative on major transmission project teams in the design of new products, and improvement of current products, to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Champion technical issue resolution at OEM's engineering centers, manufacturing plants and suppliers in a timely manner.
  • Support the resolution of technical field issues with end-use customer.
  • Build and maintain relationships with critical to role positions within both Eaton/ECJV and the OEM, including Engineering, Tech Service, Quality, Warranty, Manufacturing, Specifications, Sales, Product Validation, and Product Planning).
  • Utilize analytical skills to provide system analysis, Root-cause failure analysis and to ensure flawless system integration of associated products, designs and solutions.
  • Promote cost-effective designs and manufacturing processes in support of cost out metrics defined in OEM contracts.
  • Bring new or improved products to market via the OEM.
  • Active support of OEM tests and test facilities.
  • Continuously improve technical and interpersonal skills through ongoing education and training.
  • Active member of the OEM Sales and Marketing Account Team and their initiatives as required.
  • Recruit and direct (internal or external, technical, and non-technical) support resources required to achieve timely completion of projects, programs, and issue resolution at the OEM or internally.
  • Provide technical input for improvements to existing product designs or integrations to improve functionality, performance, reliability and/or quality by acting as a liaison between Customer and engineering development teams.
  • Support/Coordinate launch activities in support of field trials, pilot builds, and manufacturing trials in preparation for full OEM production release.
  • Interaction with existing and prospective customers for routine technical support purposes

Qualifications:

Required Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in engineering
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future
  • No relocation is available for this position. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Dallas, TX and/or Denton, TX to be considered. Active Duty Military are exempt from this geographical limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a customer facing position
  • Automotive/Trucking industry knowledge
  • Data acquisition/software troubleshooting experience

Skills:

  • A Product Integrator: Liaison activities to facilitate on-time, flawless product launch.
  • Voice of the Customer (VOC): interfacing with key internal departments such as Marketing, Engineering, Tech Service and Quality to share customer "wants" and "needs".
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with both internal teams and external customer entities, driving customer satisfaction.
  • Contractual Adherence: Ensure adherence to OEM contractual agreements and stipulations.
