In this role you will report to the Teamleader Customer Order Engineering who will mentor you regarding the mechanical engineering activities on our product portfolio NGX, Xiria, FMX, UX. You will work closely with Customer Order Application and Electrical Engineers and Work preparators.

As a Customer Order - Mechanical Engineer your main duties will be to prepare mechanical designs for the above mentioned product portfolio. You will provide Elcad / E-plan designs in line with the engineering standards.

Other duties in this role are:
• Participating in communication with customers referring to specific project design assignments or meetings.
• Ensuring components and assemblies adhere to applicable industry and business standards.
• Meeting the defined quality standards for Engineering work and applying tools such as DFMEA's, tolerance and error proofing to avoid potential issues in the customer order design.
• Collaborating in multidisciplinary teams for identifying and tracking compliance to specification, for evaluating designs, manufacturability, serviceability, and product cost.
• Proactively identifying risks and looking for solutions within the design including reaching out to peers and subject matter experts.
• Coordinating physical testing on prototypes.
• Controlling the release of parts and assemblies for production in cooperation with the production facility.

Qualifications:

We are looking for a candidate with an Associate/Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering with basic knowledge of switchgear design and fabrication processes. At least +/- 3-5 years of relevant work experience as an engineer with the competency of working with Elcad/Eplan software.

Skills:

Continuous Improvement attitude/way of working. Good communication skills to communicate with suppliers, colleagues and (inter)national customers. Language capabilities in English and Dutch.

• Ability to plan, work effectively within set time-frame.
