Eaton's CPDI PDI division is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Technician. he Richmond, VA site specifically focuses in on cirtical power distibution for multiple segments; those including Utitlites, Data Centers, Hospitality, and Commercial Instiutions. The Continuous Improvement Technician offers a 40-hour paid week with hours being from 7:00am-3:30pm, full benefits, and 401K match plan.
The hourly rate for this position is $24.96 per hour.

What you'll do:
The CI Technician will be responsible for assisting the CI coordinator with the implementation of new CI strategies and initiatives across the Richmond sites.

In this function you will:
- Work with CI coordinator to ensure the successful execution of kaizen events.
- Assist the CI coordinator with the development of process improvement ideas and potential kaizen events.
- Under the direction of the CI coordinator, prioritize and close out all long-term action items driven from kaizens and continuous improvement projects.
- Participate in problem solving teams using industry standard root cause problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 5-Why, 8D, Ishikawa Diagrams)
- Collect data needed for CI/OPEX metrics.
- Work with auditors to ensure completion of CI related audits and processes checks.
- Maintain an inventory of 5S/Kaizen supplies and ensure both plants always have sufficient stock.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic):
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without out company sponsorship, now or in the future.
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
Preferred:
- Certificate in lean manufacturing and/or associates degree in related field
- 1-3 years of CI experience (lean/continuous improvement manufacturing concepts, six sigma, process improvement, etc)
Skills:
- Willingness to participate or lead a multi-functional team.
- Working knowledge of basic computer systems including but not limited to: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Must have excellent verbal and interpersonal relationship skills
- Ability to work independently conducting analysis for root cause identification and understanding how to identify problems and reach resolutions is beneficial.
- Physical capability of standing 8 hours each day, moving around equipment and buildings, and lifting up to 50lbs.
