Eaton's IS AER FED division is currently seeking a CNC Machinist Okuma Cell.

The hours for this role are 3pm-11pm

The hourly rate for this position is 34.26 per hour.

What you'll do:

The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating the Okuma lathe and Okuma VMC, along with other equipment within the Okuma Cell. This role involves hands-off two-sided machining using advanced features such as Live Tooling, Y-axis, and sub-spindle on the lathe, and a 32-station tool magazine with a fully functioning 4-axis on the VMC.

Key Responsibilities:
• Set up and operate both conventional and programmable CMMs, ovens, and freezers for heat treatment and stabilization of components.
• Mark components using various methods including dot peen, ink stamp, electro-etch, vibro-peen, and laser.
• Perform exacting setups using chucks, fixtures, parallels, and blocks to ensure proper alignment and maintain relationships. Select appropriate speeds and feeds based on material type and finish requirements.
• Locate fixtures and workpieces in relation to established reference surfaces and perform in-place final machining of fixtures as required.
• Work from blueprints, method sheets, setup sheets, and verbal instructions to produce parts with tolerances as close as .0001". Perform necessary bench work such as filing, fitting, and deburring.
• Set up and use various measurement instruments including micrometers, verniers, comparators, monochromatic light, Sunnen gauges, dial indicators, protractors, air gauges, bore gauges, and Jo-blocks for part inspection.
• Operate one or more machines of various types for continuous production flow within the cell.
• Participate in a continuous improvement team to enhance quality, productivity, cost efficiency, and service. Collaborate with engineers to develop and recommend new processes and improvements.
• Measure and verify own work after setup and first piece inspection by the Group Leader or Supervisor.
• Move parts as required to ensure continuous production flow. Report faulty operations, defective materials, and unusual conditions to supervisors.
• Maintain work area, tools, and equipment in clean, orderly condition in accordance with 5S, safety, and department standards. Perform daily equipment and tool maintenance as per checklists and standard practices.
• Observe prescribed safety precautions, company rules, and regulations.
• Plan and perform a range of manual operations such as drilling, turning, milling, grinding, reaming, tapping, spot-facing, threading, broaching, sanding, sawing, filing, burring, pinning, polishing, cleaning, and modifying component parts. Make jaws, tooling, and fixtures as directed. Replace dull or broken tools.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 3 years of CNC turning and milling experience.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
• Must live within 50 miles of the Rumford location.

Preferred qualifications:
• Ability to read and interpret complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables.
• Knowledgeable in GD&T
• Proficiency in setting up and operating advanced machining equipment and measurement instruments. Ability to interpret blueprints and perform precise machining operations.
