Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Casing & Crating Team Lead 1st Shift.

The hourly rate for this position is $22.00 per hour.

What you'll do:

Job summary

Responsible for overseeing the Casing & Crating department and support other functions as needed to successfully meet production goals.

Job responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the activities of Casing & Crating areas.
• Provides training and direction to all technicians within the department to ensure all elements of manufacturing are being followed and executed to expectations with safety and quality in mind.

• Oversee and control day-to-day activites of Casing & Crating technicians.
• Drive productivity within the department.
• Ensure compliance with safety and housekeeping practices & company policies and procedures.
• Schedule work for the department and assign daily work for all technicians.
• Ensure Casing & Crating technicians perform their tasks following verbal and written instructions.
• Work closely with Engineering on new products and processes to identify capability gaps and assist to develop work instructions.
• Monitor and verify all Casing & Crating equipment is up to date within calibration requirements, in good working condition, and can product quality product.
• Assist Engineering and technicians with trouble shooting Casing & Crating malfunctions or test results.
• Support the implementation of corrective actions related to safety and quality.
• Support cross functional training to promote within, also the interviewing and hiring process.
• Responsible for requesting equipment and supplies needed to support these departments.
• Ensure all regulations are being followed, including proper use of PPE and the operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner.
• Make sure manufacturing areas are kept clean, organized and neat per 5S+ values.
• Support continuous improvement events and the execution of new initiatives.
• Support Casing & Crating Supervisor.
• Lead all daily Tier Meetings at the beginning of each shift.
• Monitor tier boards.
• Assemble a team to remove out of flow units are on the working path.
• Work through and process all PTNFG/OpsINP units.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education level required

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Years and area of experience required

  • At least 4 years of manufacturing experience
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience

Technical knowledge

• Must have the ability to read and understand written communications
including basic operating instructions.
• Ability to train, develop, and mentor others.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
