Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Buyer.

What you'll do:

Job Summary
Timely identification of purchasing needs to support the production operation, place purchase orders with suppliers, and follow up until the items are available for the users. Do the operation efficiently, avoiding shortages and excess inventory as well as extraordinary expenses in transportation and/or premium fees.

Job Responsibilities
• Plan the purchase of materials and services, based on the demand and inventory according to their delivery times.
• Place purchase orders on time according to the balance of requirements and confirm receipt of the purchase order with supplier.
• Have direct communication with suppliers regarding material usage and forecast.

• Maintain communication and updates with internal customers, related to material arrival.
• Maintain raw material inventory levels in accordance to the objectives set every month (analysis and control).
• Notify suppliers of cases of material rejection due to quality, discrepancy in quantity or errors in invoicing for clarification and release of payment.
• Give disposition to rejected material and create corrective action plans.
• Make a monthly purchase forecast.
• Properly inform the different areas of the organization (e.g. sourcing, engineering, production, planning, quality, etc) regarding restriction or lack of materials na make follow-up of the agreed decisions.
• Identify cost out opportunities.
• Contribute to the accreditation of the plant under the ISO 9001 standards.
• Understand and follow the restrictions and responsabilities for the IMMEX program on what is related to this position."

Qualifications:

Education level required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Administration from an accredited institution.

Years and area of experience required

  • Minimum of two years of experience in Procurement, Purchasing in manufacturing organizations.

Skills:

Technical knowledge

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems
  • Fluent in English
  • Kanban / pull systems
  • Proficient in MS Office toolset
  • ERPs/MRP knowledge
