Eaton's ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Automation Technician at our El Paso facility located at 1 Helen of Troy Plaza. The core hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to The range for this position is $20 - $30 per hour. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you'll do:

The Automation Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of automation equipment in our El Paso PCD facility.

Essential Functions:

• Assist in commissioning new equipment and startup validation.

• Responsible for troubleshooting and analyze complex control systems to resolve software and hardware problems.
• Responsible to participate on risk assessment events to reduce safety hazards in equipment.
• Responsible to maintain maintenance logs and equipment documentation.
• Responsible to communicate equipment status as required.
• Hands-on development improvements to high-speed automated equipment for the manufacturing of Breakers.
• Performs troubleshooting, and maintenance of high-speed automated equipment.
• Use technical knowledge and experience in programming and troubleshooting to resolve issues and to improve the performance of the automated machines based on the following technologies:
• Robots: FANUC, ABB, Epson and Stäubli, Motoman, KUKA (strong experience with pick and place applications)
• Strong knowledge in Rockwell Automation Software: Studio 5000 (RSLogix 5000), Factory Talk Machine Edition/Site Edition

• Strong knowledge in Servo Motion Controls System as Kinetix Servo drives, Sinamics or similar
• Advanced process control as Fuzzy Logix, Profibuss, ProfiNet networks, PID Function and Functional Charts Language, Ethernet-IP / TCP-IP Networks.
• Strong knowledge in development and programming of Vision Systems such as Cognex (Insight 5000, 2000, micro, Keyence CVX, IV, Banner).
• Product and parts identification including RFID and Barcoding (software, printers, and readers).
• Strong knowledge in pneumatics and electropneumatic, mechanical knowledge, electronics.
• Work with production, engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure that goals are achieve.
• You will perform other tasks as required.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work within the United States without company sponsorship.
• No relocation is provided for this position, only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the El Paso, TX facility will be considered.

• High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 4 years automation equipment or relevant experience.
• Minimum of 4 years maintenance of automated equipment and facilities.

• Fully Bilingual: written and oral fluency in English/Spanish.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced process control as Fuzzy Logix, Profibuss, ProfiNet networks, PID Function and Functional Charts Language, Ethernet-IP / TCP-IP Networks.

• EHS practices, regulations, and procedures experience.

• Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP)
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), and CMMS software.
• Understanding of electrical/electronic systems.
• Experience and knowledge of tools, common applications, and devices (hand tools, multimeters, measurements devices, etc.)
• Basic plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs, or other drainage problems.
• Basic pneumatic knowledge to address leaks and clogs.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with employees, manage vendors, contractors, etc.
• Must be well-organized and have the ability to prioritize daily tasks.
• Attention to detail to ensure all jobs are completed in a proper manner and look for any potential hazards or warning signs.

• Physically capable of lifting to 50lbs with or without accommodation utilizing team lifting processes.
• Experience in reading and understand equipment schematics, including electrical, control, pneumatic, and hydraulics.
