What you'll do:
Eaton is looking for a full-time Attorney to work in the Law Department and to take a lead role in providing legal support on global supply chain/commercial contracts for both the indirect and direct categories across Eaton. In this role you will be part of an international team working with the International Supply Chain organization as well as Business Attorneys and Professionals in various locations and levels throughout Eaton. You will be responsible for providing legal support on supply chain commercial contracts - from review and drafting through negotiation, internal approval and contract finalization.
- Analyze, interpret and negotiate terms and conditions for various commercial deals and projects (e.g. supply, purchase, brand label, strategic alliance, design, consultant, services, long term agreements for IT, professional services, logistics, warehouse and other as necessary), negotiating defined contracts for strategic accounts.
- Ensure compliance with established processes for requesting contract review via the Contract Lifecycle Managmemt tool, as well as ensure continued compliance with policies and standards throughout our International Supply Chain organization .
- Drafting contract wording as needed and provide legal guidance to colleagues for our different business requirements.
- Take lead role in negotiating complex, high value contracts and/or contracts for strategic accounts.
- Be informed of existing agreements, approved risk mitigation plans, ongoing negotiations, win/loss reasons and use such information to develop and improve contract reviews, risk mitigation actions, negotiation strategies, approval recommendations, resulting with informed decision making and acceptable risk taking by the business.
- Prepare contract risk assessments for internal stakeholders' approval based on Eaton's policies and procedures.
- Provide regular training for Eaton's Supply Chain professionals on defined contractual concept and contract management processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Law studies and license to practice law
- At least 6 years' legal experience in contract drafting and negotiation (in a law-firm and/or in-house) or contract management experience
Skills:
- Good knowledge of general Commercial Law;
- Experience with Indirect and Direct procurement;
- Experienced negotiator and comfortable in negotiations.
- Personality and demeanour to interact with individuals of all backgrounds and at all levels of an international organization
