Eaton's ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Assistant Buyer.
This position is based in our Omaha, NE facility. No relocation assistance will be provided.
The hourly rate for this position is 23.00 - 26.00 per hour.

What you'll do:
The Assistant Buyer is responsible for the procurement, pull, flow, expediting of material and identification and resolution of materials issues and shortages within the plant consistent with operating objectives. The Assistant Buyer will work with Buyers, Master Scheduler, production, and suppliers to assure the effective operation of the materials process and system.

In this role you will:
• Maintain a high level of responsiveness to our internal and external customers
• Schedule and Purchase material via MRP through M2M.
• Promote good working relationships with internal suppliers and within the plant between the SCM Organization, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Quality, and Engineering
• Promote good working relationships with external suppliers
• Expedite materials with suppliers to improve dates to meet customer needs, via email, Vista, and phone
• Acknowledge and Maintain Shortage dates
• Participate in Continuous Improvement Projects within Supply Chain
• Maintain supplier promise dates in M2M for every purchase order
• Proactively manage potential material shortages (PO past dues, PO critical overdues, PO no promise dates, PO review)
• Serve as backup for Supply Chain team.
• Conduct 5s Activities
• Participate in continuous flow and standardize work events
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree from an accredited institution
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
- No relocation assistance will be provided for this role. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Omaha, NE will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Relocation is not offered for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in business administration, supply chain, or related field.
- Proficient Knowledge of M2M systems: Inventory Transactions, and familiarity with purchase orders; Knowledge of MRP is a plus
- Knowledge of computerized inventory systems gained from previous experience working in a manufacturing environment
Skills:
- Strong Communication skills
- Self-starter with strong critical thinking, problem solving, negotiation, decision making, organizational, planning,
- Excellent computer skills- working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
