Assembly Technician & Lead Machinist

Eaton's IS VEH VGGP division is currently seeking a Assembly Technician & Lead Machinist on 1st shift (core hours 8AM-4PM EST). This position is based at our Marshall, MI facility.

The Assembly Technician is responsible for supporting and conducting a variety of assembly and disassembly on various products.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $56250.0 - $82500.0 a year.

What you'll do:

  • Leading the assembly of sample prototype builds for valvetrain components, i.e, rocker arms & hydraulic lash adjusters
  • Using hand tools, inspection and layout equipment including Dial Indicators, Micrometers, and Coordinate Measuring Machine
  • Flex time to support machining activities when schedule allows.
  • Participate in design reviews with engineering to provide input on assembly and fixtures
  • Support campus EHS, material and quality control activities including - LOTO, safety action items, parts inventory and storage, and other items as necessary
  • Champion change to improve quality, performance, cost reduction, and standardization within the lab.

Qualifications:

Required Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum High School Diploma and/or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum three (3) years experience in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, machining and/or automotive technician experience
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship both now and in the future
  • No relocation is available for this position. Candidates within a 50 mile radius of Marshall, MI will be considered. Active Duty Military are exempt from this geographical limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Applied Science from an accredited institution
  • CNC Machining experience in turning and milling
  • Experience with building prototype samples, validation testing and processing test data
  • Experience with reading blueprints and GD&T
  • Experience with Mastercam or similar CAD/CAM software

Skills:

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Effective oral and written communication skills as well as planning and organizational skills.
  • Awareness of international cultures
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel
  • Proven mechanical knowledge and aptitude
