Eaton's new campus for its critical power systems in Vantaa, Finland, was completed in November 2023. The 16,500 m² site houses research and development, manufacturing, warehousing, sales and service under one roof, which will create plenty of additional jobs.

As one of the world's largest manufacturers of three-phase uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), Eaton's expansion in this area is driven by strong business growth and the demand for systems that ensure business continuity. Situated in a prime location next to the Helsinki airport, the Vantaa facility will serve as Eaton's Critical Power Solutions headquarters and a center of excellence for data centers.
What you'll do:
As an Application Engineer Trainee, you will serve as a technical specialist for large UPS systems and Special System customers across the EMEA region. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting internal sales teams by analyzing customer requirements and providing technical and commercial guidance on UPS requests.
- Preparing quotations and designing UPS solutions in collaboration with various stakeholders, including R&D, Product Marketing, Production, Sales, and Suppliers.
In addition to these core responsibilities, you are expected to act ethically and uphold Eaton's Values and Philosophy. You should demonstrate a proactive interest in developing your work, skills, and competencies.
We are looking for someone who can manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines effectively. Building strong working relationships within the team, as well as with other departments and locations, is essential. Qualifications:
- You are a B.Sc. or Master's student in Electrical Engineering or related field, with at least 2 years of relevant studies completed.
- Technical knowledge on power electronics and/or three phase electrical systems and solutions.
- Experience on UPS/frequency converter technologies and assemblies is an advantage.
- Fluency in English and basics in Finnish
- Strong work ethic, communication and interpersonal skills, positive attitude, problem-solving skills, teamwork skills, resilience
