The Power Quality (PQ) division at Eaton Electrical provides power management solutions including uninterruptable power supplies (UPS's), surge protective devices, power distribution units (PDU's), remote monitoring, software, power factor correction, airflow management, rack enclosures and services. We strive for continued success in leveraging technical innovation to develop next-generation solutions.

We are looking to hire an Application Engineer to work closely with our sales team to select and engineer products and solutions and build client proposals for DC UPS systems.

The ideal candidate will establish client requirements and engineer solutions to meet those requirements using Eaton and selected third party products. They will also work closely with Eaton engineers and salespeople on specifications and solutions by leveraging their experience and qualifications.

What you'll do:

  • Develop technical & commercial solutions based on customer requirements using Eaton and selected third party products, specifically in power quality products including large scale UPS, DC power systems and battery systems.
  • Prepare written proposals for submission to the customer. An eye for detail and accuracy with numbers are also primary.
  • Work with the sales team, end users and consultants to understand the customer's needs.
  • Build relationships with consultants, key customers and the sales team. Use initiative and possess a positive attitude towards teamwork is critical.
  • Create mechanical and electrical drawings to support project submission.
  • Deliver presentations on Eaton's solutions to external and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide input for new product development and champion innovation initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering mandatory
  • 3 years of experience in critical power products and systems such as DC UPS.
  • Prior experience in commercial and bid engineering desirable but not mandatory
  • Good understanding of project costing and margin calculation is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
