The expected annual salary range for this role is $130500.0 - $191400.0 a year.

Job Summary: The Senior Specialist will lead the design and delivery of AI-enabled technology solutions. This role involves leveraging AI technologies for industrial applications, including machine learning, advanced signal processing, and optimization and control. The candidate will demonstrate exceptional impact in delivering products and services, mapping business problems to practical AI solutions, and refining technical deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the design and delivery of AI-enabled technology solutions.
• Demonstrate exceptional impact in delivering products and services leveraging AI technologies for industrial applications.
• Map business problems and opportunities to practical AI and machine learning solutions.
• Refine and clarify technical deliverables required for digital solutions.
• Evaluate business, research, and technical requirements to determine potential solutions.
• Work directly with stakeholders, engineering, and test teams as part of an Agile Release Train to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Lead external partnerships with universities and research organizations to bring new technologies and best practices to Eaton.
• Mentor others in the use of tools and techniques.
• Proactively lead and direct government funding pursuits, functioning as the Principal Investigator.
• Explore and recommend new technologies, tools and processes for capabilities and efficiencies across the delivery pipeline.
• Develop and integrate pre-production technologies and services across edge, on-prem, and cloud systems.
• Collaborate broadly across multiple functions to make key performance readily available and easily consumable.

Skills and Experience:

Basic (required) Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in computer science, engineering, software engineering, statistics, applied mathematics, or physics from an accredited institution
  • Minimum three (3) years experience after PhD or at least eight (8) years of industrial experience
  • No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Southfield, MI, or Beachwood OH to be considered.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD
  • Deep understanding and practical industrial experience in commercializing AI and machine learning technologies, including AI/ML Inference, Time Series Analysis and Forecasting, Probability and Statistics, Machine Learning Algorithms, Model-Based Design, Digital Signal and Image Processing, Modeling Languages, Combinatorial Optimization, High Performance Embedded Computing, Statistical Inference.
  • Experience in building production-grade AI solutions for industrial applications such as electric power systems and asset diagnostics and prognostics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively explain technical concepts.
  • Conversant with virtualization methodologies and tools with a track record of delivering products in a production environment.
