The Impact you will have in this role:

The Systems Engineering family is responsible for the entire technical effort to evolve and verify solutions that satisfy client needs. The primary focus is centered on reducing risk and improving the efficiency, performance, stability, security, and quality of all systems and platforms. The Systems Engineering role specializes in the analysis, evaluation, design, testing, implementation, support, and debugging of all middleware, mainframe, and distributed platforms, tools, and systems of the firm.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 6 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience


Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide Mainframe computer operations support for systems and applications in a 24/7 multiplex environment.
  • Monitoring Z/OS operation systems, batch jobs and applications in a multiple-plex environments (Production, QA, PSE, DEV and test, sandbox)
  • Provide eyes on glass support for all alerts that enters the Service Now and Splunk dashboards and mainframe consoles.
  • Perform level 1 and 2 support for MQ & CICS issues and working with external/internal clients on MQ connectivity.
  • Provide Major Incident Management and Technical Call support.
  • Provide media storage support. Ship and receive media from offshore storage vendor.
  • Create and maintain Knowledge Base Articles.
  • Provide support on IPLs and other activities using HMC/BMC consoles.
  • Provide batch scheduling support for Mainframe CA-Scheduler and Distributive Autosys job schedulers.
  • Provide UNIX/LINUX support for auto operator commands thru SecuteCRT.
  • Identify and implement efficiencies and improvements to standard processes and procedures.
  • Provide support for migrations, deployments, implementation, changes, external/internal testing.
  • Coordinate and participate in planned Disaster Recovery Testing
  • Coordinate weekly Mainframe change activities (deployments, upgrade, migration, installation)
  • Responsible for all aspects of batch processing, including the timeliness of systems availability.
  • Coordinate and participate in planned Disaster Recovery Testing
  • Support automation by making recommendations for optimizing and streamlining daily functions and batch cycles.

Additional Qualifications:
  • Strong Computer Operation background in large-scale, multi-plex Mainframe environments
  • Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Strong knowledge of IBM z/OS, JES2, MVS, HMC, VTAM, NETVIEW, TSO/ISPF, Mainview
  • Strong IPL knowledge using HMC, BMC
  • Working Knowledge of JCL
  • Strong Knowledge of CA7/11/CA Scheduler and Autosys
  • Strong Knowledge of Service Now and Splunk for alert management
  • Strong level 1 and 2 support for MQ & CICS products.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Software Product suites (Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word etc.)
