The Impact you will have in this role:

Being a member of the Government Relations team, the Associate Director will primarily support and promote the DTCC Political Action Committee and provide supplemental assistance in legislative coverage and analysis regarding DTCC federal public policy issues of interest. The successful candidate will have strong writing skills. External relationships with industry representatives, political staff/fundraisers, and Hill staff are preferred. Internal relationships will include DTCC's business lines and offices of Risk, Marketing and Communications, Legal and Compliance, among others. The position will be based in Washington, D.C.

Your Primary Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with Executive Director of DTCC PAC on the administration of the PAC as needed.
  • Support DTCC PAC's operational functions including but not limited to fundraising, communications, compliance and political engagements.
  • Assist with materials preparation for the DTCC PAC Board.
  • Assist in adherence to internal policies and procedures as well as compliance with FEC laws as related to both DTCC PAC and lobbying activities.
  • Help develop and implement DTCC PAC's internal fundraising and giving strategy.
  • Coordinate DTCC PAC calendar and events administration and contribution disbursements
  • Coordinate and run political site visits at DTCC locations.
  • Track and monitor legislative activity and report to Government Relations executives.
  • Identify opportunities and risks for DTCC within a wide range of legislative topics related to financial services.
  • Project manage various internal Government Relations communications and events on a weekly, quarterly, annually and ad-hoc basis - seeking input from the Global GR team.
  • Work with the GR team to identify, align and integrate key business units' communications initiatives pertaining to government affairs with other DTCC initiatives, with a particular focus on supporting internal partners mentioned above.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of action plans and coordinate support for a wide range of internal customers and events including legal, Clearing and Settlement Services, the Chief Client Officer and Risk
  • Develop routine communications to inform management as to relevant developments in the federal government
  • Mitigates risk by following established procedures and monitoring controls, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience


Talents Needed for Success:
  • Must have Washington, D.C.-based or other relevant political and/or government relations experience. Proven experience working with the U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives is a plus.
  • Experience with and understanding of the political fundraising system
  • Experience working on legislative and regulatory initiatives related to financial services is a plus.
  • Must have solid understanding of and relationships with congressional and political staff for the House and Senate.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and in a bipartisan fashion to complete various legislative and political projects
