The Impact you will have in this role:

Being a member of the Data Governance team, the Associate Director serves as a point of escalation for data quality and metadata issues working closely with data stewards in each business unit and associated technical teams. This individual will be responsible for implementing and adherence to the data governance framework in a federated data management environment ensuing compliance with data governance policies and procedures. The Associate Director will be responsible for managing and monitoring data governance activities throughout the firm.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the implementation of data governance policies, procedures and standards and assess whether business practices align with those standards.
  • Perform data analysis to identify trends, anomalies and opportunities for improvement within data governance practices.
  • Engage with the business units and second line to gather information, clarify data related issues and promote data governance initiatives.
  • Lead cross functional activities related to data governance and stewardship and develop recommendations for data management improvements.
  • Lead the development and deployment of training for staff on compliance responsibilities, focusing on the importance of following data governance policies and mitigating risks associated with data handling.
  • Mitigates risk by following established procedures and monitoring controls, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.


Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience


Talents Needed for Success:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience managing Data Governance foundational functions such as business glossary, metadata management and data quality.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing/using data governance technologies such as Collibra, Snowflake, Informatica, Ataccama etc.
  • Experience in managing in federated data management environments.
  • Understanding of relevant data - related laws and regulations (GDPR, CCPA) to understand compliance requirements and regulations.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerBI to assist in data analysis and related tasks.


The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
