About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Manager to lead and manage a small but dynamic team responsible for developing, maintaining, scaling, and securing our data infrastructure. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of our data pipelines and infrastructure, empowering our teams to make data-driven decisions with confidence.

This position reports to the Senior Manager, Technical Operations of the Dow Jones Technology team. If you're passionate about DevOps, data systems, and building high-performing teams, this role is for you!

You Will:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of DevOps and data infrastructure engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with data engineering, analytics, and product teams to align infrastructure with business needs.
  • Make independent decisions for the team; act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders to communicate system capabilities and limitations.
  • Understand and practice agile software development and management with an eye to efficient cost management.
  • Ensure systems comply with industry best practices for security and regulatory standards.

You Have:
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible), and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Deep understanding of data infrastructure tools (e.g., Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, or equivalent).
  • Experience with monitoring and logging systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk).
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or a similar role with 1+ years of experience leading or managing technical teams.
  • An undergraduate degree in computer/data science or related field is a plus.

Pay Range: $145,000 - $180,000
