About the Role:
The Data Privacy Specialist is responsible for assisting in the development, management, and monitoring processes to support the organization's compliance with applicable international, federal, and state regulations and guidelines, including the operational management of key privacy technologies such as the Consent Management Platform. You will work closely with internal teams to establish and maintain a culture of data privacy.
This role is part of a team responsible for privacy and data governance work across the organization. You will collaborate with business, legal, product, and technology teams throughout the company and will help us build and support scalable tools and processes to ensure we maintain high standards and practices for data privacy management. You will work on projects related to ongoing compliance with data privacy laws, personal data use and digital products, AI, and related requirements. This position will report to the VP - Data Governance.
Responsibilities Include:
- Engage with product, legal, engineering, marketing, and other departments to ensure data privacy considerations are considered early and integrated into business processes, project planning, and product development.
- Manage the Consent Management Platform (CMP) tool with updates, configurations, and reporting.
- Coordinate and collaborate with development teams on the implementation and QA of the CMP and other privacy-enhancing tools on our products.
- Use monitoring tools to ensure our products and 3rd party vendors adhere to standards
- Prepare and maintain documentation related to privacy compliance guidelines, processes, 3rd Party vendors, and how we manage 1st Party data. Including use of wiki pages, playbooks, templates, metrics, and self-serve tools, to help scale the privacy function
- Serve as a point of escalation for questions related to privacy related incidents, queries, investigations, and reporting, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are taken and documented.
- Support privacy-enhancing management tools and processes enabling customer data requests, including form management and reporting.
- Participate in data cataloging projects for compliance purposes, particularly with respect to access and use of personal information and sensitive information.
- Automate and prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports related to privacy systems..
- Support efforts to identify privacy related considerations for third parties, suppliers, and vendors to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
- Contribute to continued development and maintenance of privacy programs such as updating policies and procedures, privacy-by-design, data retention and minimization, and implementation of any new laws and requirements.
- Assist with the development of awareness and training materials for organizational education.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- 3+ year of demonstrated experience in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of data flows, related to data collection and sharing, in particular in digital advertising and marketing programs.
- Is an enthusiastic professional who has passion for the data privacy compliance topic and is willing to develop and specialize in this area of evolving compliance.
- Possess technical aptitude to communicate effectively across business and technology professionals.
- Experience creating and reviewing procedural and technical documentation.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented and good at multitasking.
- Have a process and solution-oriented mindset
Additional Qualifications
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle.
- Experience troubleshooting digital applications.
- Ability to quickly learn new technology at a deep level.
- Excellent organization, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication, written, presentation and interpersonal skills
Additional Knowledge a Plus
- Familiarity with current data privacy laws or has IAPP certified information privacy technologist (CIPT) certification or is open to getting certified.
- Knowledge of data related initiatives such as data ingestion and data mapping, report and dashboard creation, analytics and site tracking implementation
- Experience with Privacy-enhancing technologies such as SourcePoint, OneTrust, or other tools or systems
- Knowledge of the online advertising ecosystem; segmentation, personalization, and data platforms.
