About the Role

The Team Lead, Global Travel & Expense role will oversee and mentor a team of T&E analysts, providing guidance to ensure efficient management of travel and expense processes. You will lead regular team meetings to review performance, address challenges, and communicate updates, while also identifying training and development opportunities for team growth. The Team Lead will report to the Senior Manager, Global Travel and Expense, and be a part of the greater T&E team. You will work hybrid, reporting onsite to our DoorDash office in Mexico City.

You will take charge of monitoring team performance through reporting on metrics, identifying trends, and addressing potential issues. You will also keep senior management informed on T&E compliance, spending patterns, and process efficiency.

A core responsibility will be to enforce T&E policies and ensure compliance across the team. You will promptly address any issues, work with company partners to update policies, and ensure alignment with industry best practices. You will be cross trained to also work as a backup on the team where required.

As the point of escalation, you will handle employee inquiries or issues related to T&E. You will also collaborate with internal stakeholders and the Head of Global Travel & Expense to ensure alignment on T&E strategies and performance.

  • Quickly establish yourself as the subject matter expert on our T&E policy, our systems and approvals, and be a resource for employees.
  • Review and administer T&E platforms
  • Assist in new areas and work to develop a T&E expertise, by participating in the implementations of innovative solutions and products, vendors and technology in the T&E space

We're excited about you because you have...

  • 3+ years of experience in Travel & Expense management (or similar function), with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
  • 2+ years experience as a team lead or management experience of a team
  • Experience with T&E tools and platforms (e.g., Navan, Brex, SAP Concur, or similar)
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to mentor and develop staff
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Ability to work with various partners at multiple levels of the organization
