About the Team
DoorDash is looking for an experienced full-stack Engineering Manager with a sharp product mindset to lead the Modes team in New York. This team is responsible for shaping the future of our key ordering experiences, including Gifting, Scheduling, Group Orders, and Pickup. You'll manage projects that span both frontend and backend development, working closely with consumer product and platform teams. Your mission: build and scale innovative, multi-billion-dollar business opportunities on top of the industry's leading food delivery platform.
About the Role
As the Engineering Manager for Modes, you'll operate at the intersection of product vision and technical execution. You'll lead your team in solving complex business challenges while enhancing the shopping journey across key interfaces-homepage, search, store, and item pages. In this role, you'll shape the team's technical direction, overseeing the design and implementation of highly reliable, scalable, and accessible systems. You'll also collaborate cross-functionally, balancing technical trade-offs with business outcomes to drive impactful results for the company.

We're excited about you because...
- You hold a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- You bring 7+ years of industry experience, with at least 2 years of experience managing teams
- You have experience leading teams across multiple disciplines, including backend, Android, iOS, and web development
- You have a strong product sense and can partner effectively with cross-functional peers
- You excel at collaborating with non-technical stakeholders and have experience building scalable solutions in fast-paced environments
- You thrive in ambiguity, skillfully translating business needs into scalable, customer-centric engineering solutions
- You're a proven leader who can guide and grow a high-performing engineering team in an evolving business landscape

Compensation
The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee's work location.Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.
In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.
