About the Team

We are looking for an analytical and hands-on builder to help us scale DoorDash's non-restaurant business across Canada, Australia and New Zealand. This is an exciting opportunity to drive the selection mission of delivering anything our customers want, supporting the rapid expansion of our core Grocery offering and our entry into emerging Retail verticals. As we build our merchant selection, you will be the driving force for onboarding optimization across our international markets, curating an exceptional early experience for all our merchants on our platform.

About the Role

DoorDash is looking for an Associate to join our Canada New Verticals Strategy & Operations team to bring our vision of last mile logistics across grocery, convenience and retail to life. You will touch all workflows that result in a merchant completing its first order to growing their business continuously. On a typical day, you might be testing end-to-end dasher and customer flows in preparation for a national merchant launch, to talking to a local merchant about ways we could drive more volume, and diving deep into impressions data to understand how our merchant launches are surfacing on platform. You will have a core focus on process set up, tooling and infrastructure to set solid foundations as we scale our new verticals business. As a prerequisite, candidates must be strong in data analysis and modelling, and be comfortable navigating complex datasets.

You're excited about this opportunity because you will...

  • Launch. You will serve as the main point of contact from contract sign to activation, providing operations support to relationship managers to set our Merchants up for success.
  • Build. Develop processes, tools and relationships that deliver scalability to our operations across merchant cohorts by localizing playbooks for international markets.
  • Analyze. Leverage data whenever possible to inform hypotheses, as well as build models in tools like Excel and SQL to track incremental improvement, and identify needle moving opportunities
  • Collaborate. You will work cross-functionally across operations, engineering, legal, regulatory operations and business development teams to accelerate our business and improve the merchant experience.
  • Experiment. Use a data-driven approach and your marketplace knowledge to diagnose problems quickly, demonstrating a strong ownership mentality to make our business 1% better everyday

We're excited about you because...

  • You operate at the lowest level of detail. You use data to inform tough decisions, and are comfortable operating at both the 10,000 foot level and at the 10 inch level, transitioning between the two multiple times a day.
  • You are analytical. You have proficiency in Excel (can perform complex functions and modeling) and SQL (or similar language)
  • You are an owner. You are a self-starter and display a strong bias to action, and are excited to operate in a fast-paced and constantly evolving business
  • You are a leader. You have experience leading projects, hitting goals, and succeeding in a cross-functional team environment.
  • You have 1-3+ years of relevant strategic or operational experience. Ideally in consulting, strategy, operations, technology, banking, food & beverage, startups, etc.
    or experience in high-growth/start-up

Compensation

Actual compensation within the pay range listed below will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location. Base salary is localized according to employee work location.

In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

The base pay for this position ranges from our lowest geographical market up to our highest geographical market within British Columbia.

$66,500-$95,000 CAD
