Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Style Sheet Developer to join our team. As an Style Sheet Developer, you will play a critical role in creating and maintaining the style sheets used to produce high-quality printed and electronic documents. Your expertise in output and style sheet development, including CSS, as well as your familiarity with HTML and Perl scripting, will ensure our documents meet the highest standards of precision and quality.

Responsibilities:
- Style Sheet Development: Create, modify, and maintain style sheets, including CSS, to ensure the accurate rendering of content in various publications. Develop style rules and templates for text formatting, pagination, and layout.
- XML Markup: Work with XML content, ensuring that it is structured correctly and tagged appropriately to align with the style sheet (including CSS) requirements.
- CSS Development: Develop and apply CSS styles to enhance the visual presentation of digital publications, ensuring consistency and responsiveness across different devices and screen sizes.
- HTML Integration: Integrate HTML elements and web content into documents when necessary, ensuring a seamless blend of print and digital publishing.
- Perl Scripting: Utilize Perl scripting skills to automate repetitive tasks and enhance the efficiency of the XPP workflow.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with content authors, editors, and production teams to understand publishing requirements and translate them into effective style sheet (including CSS) solutions.
- Quality Assurance: Perform thorough quality checks to ensure that the output documents, both print and digital, meet the required standards for accuracy, formatting, and layout.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to style sheet rendering (including CSS), XML markup, layout, HTML, and Perl scripting to maintain a smooth production process.
- Optimization: Continuously seek ways to improve and optimize style sheets (including CSS), HTML integration, and Perl scripting for efficiency and consistency across different types of documents and digital platforms.
- 1Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for style sheet (including CSS), HTML, and Perl scripting rules and procedures to support team members and future projects.
- Stay Updated: Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in publishing, typesetting, web design, and Perl scripting, and apply this knowledge to improve the XPP workflow.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in style sheet (including CSS) development, with a strong portfolio demonstrating your work.
- In-depth knowledge of XML, DTDs, and XSLT transformations.
- Proficiency in CSS software and its advanced typesetting capabilities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality documents, both in print and digital formats.
- Proficiency in CSS for web design and digital publication styling.
- Familiarity with HTML for web content integration.
- Proficiency in Perl scripting for automation and process enhancement.
- Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve style sheet (including CSS), HTML, and Perl scripting issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with automation and integration solutions in publishing workflows is a plus.
