You will design and implement procedures for assigned areas and provide leadership and training for accounting professionals reporting into this role. Reporting to the Revenue Director, you will manage a staff of two.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with senior management in Sales, Sales Operations, Marketing, Legal, and cross-functionally within Finance. • Review complex quarterly royalty payments to third parties accurately and timely.
  • Review account reconciliations related to revenue, including deferred revenue, accounts receivable, revenue reserves, expense accruals related to third-party payments, and other necessary accounts.
  • Maintain the internal control environment, identify control weaknesses, and suggest process improvements.
  • Drive process efficiencies through automation strategies (e.g., RPA, SAP, and BI reporting).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence best practices.
  • Coach and develop staff.
  • Assist external and internal auditors as necessary.
  • Support the Deal Desk by providing advisory services to the business.
  • Review non-standard contracts, identify potential revenue recognition issues, summarize these issues, and recommend accounting treatments based on relevant accounting literature.
  • Provide revenue recognition training to Dolby personnel, including Sales and Marketing, Sales Ops, Legal, and Compliance teams.
  • Participate in special projects, such as supporting system integrations relevant to the order-to-cash process, involvement in acquisitions (purchase accounting and integration activities), and supporting new business initiatives.
This position is located in our Atlanta office.

Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP revenue recognition accounting literature, including ASC 606, Revenue from Contracts with Customers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and disseminate information to a wide variety of internal stakeholders with credibility and influence.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills, comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering quality work products in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience developing and implementing best practices and end-to-end process enhancements for the licensing order-to-cash cycle.
  • Proactive, with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Intellectually curious with a strong desire to learn.
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Salesforce and SAP preferred.
