Based in Dolby's Taipei office the Sales Account Manager is responsible for driving Dolby's licensing business with PC OEMs and ODMs, and consumer focused semiconductor companies. The candidate must have in-depth understanding of the PC industry, including hardware/software knowledges, with a proven record driving adoption of 3rd party technologies into the industry. Ideally the candidate has a good understanding of the IC/OEM/ODM supply chain for the PC and the consumer market. As part of the role for the sales account manager the role will collaborate with various functional teams in different regions from business and product teams to licensing operations.
Essential Job Functions, Scope, Responsibility, and Descriptions :
- Manage major premium PC OEM accounts in Taiwan, build up good relationships with premium PC OEMs, and increase the adoption rate of Dolby technologies in those premium PC OEMs. Candidate needs to be able to work with customers and key Dolby stakeholders to achieve business goals that benefits both parties.
- Drive and close revenue bearing deals at OEMs/ODMs in PC and assigned home devices applications.
- Develop strong relationship with OEMs/ODMs in Taiwan and provide market dynamics to related Dolby's stakeholders as reference for product definition and business planning.
- Work with the product, tech support, and testing teams, to promote Dolby technologies and influence roadmap.
- Need to gain a clear understanding of Dolby's product, product strategy, and market momentum, promote Dolby technology as the key components to partners.
- Be a problem solver and a strategic thinker, able to layout the customer engagement strategy, internally to algin the product strategy with market demand, and to maximize the long-term revenue for Dolby.
- Be the point of contact person for customer qualification for premium and non-premium accounts by following the business assessment process with various stakeholders within the company.
- E nsure customers report royalties each quarter, assist in preparation of sales data for quarterly business reviews . Support to resolve all account compliance issues and incoming queries with regards to unlicensed products
- Perform other ad hoc duties delegated by managers. Contribute for business opportunities support and coordinate cross functional teams' discussions.
- Bachelor's degree or above in a technical or business fields
- At least 5-10 years working experience in business development, product management, or sales experience with PC OEM/ODM .
- Ideally 2-5 years of engagement experiences with IC companies in PC or home device applications.
- Strong communications skills (written and verbal) in Mandarin and English, with the ability to articulate complicated cases with succulent and easy-to-understand languages.
- Experience in IP (Intellectual Property), Business Administration, or Tax/Export Laws will be a plus.
- Occasional travel may be required for business or self-development purposes.
- Problem solver who can think and act strategically, while being able to balance the day-to-day tactical activities.
- Interests in entertainment, technology, music, and cinema would be an advantage. Understanding market momentum of Dolby technology in living room, cinema, automotive, PC and mobile.
- Ability to be proactive, work on your own initiative, meet deadlines, as well as being able to work as a member of a small but dynamic team
