Financial Analyst, Commercial Partnerships FP&A - Europe - 15 month Maternity cover
At Dolby, the Business Finance FP&A team partners with our commercial leaders across the organization. We provide valuable insights and analysis to help decision making, develop investment strategies and deliver strong financial management to execute upon our short and long-term plans for growth.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded Financial Analyst to join our team and be a valued business partner to our Commercial Partnerships Licensing Sales, Broadcast and Engineering teams across Europe. The exceptional individual will also work with our EMEA Accounting and Business Finance teams based in Dublin, San Francisco and London, respectively.
Responsibilities include:
- Building strong relationships through proactively business partnering across the Commercial Partnerships Europe team and across Business Finance to drive all aspects of financial planning and analysis across Dolby branded licensing revenue, operating expense and capex
- Facilitate the preparation, reporting, and analysis of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts through to presentation to Senior Stakeholders
- Analyze financial data, summarize, and provide a concise and meaningful commentary of variances to Commercial Partnerships stakeholders for quarterly reporting, ad hoc analysis and key management reporting deliverables
- Assist in developing financial models using 3rd party market data to support business decisions, significant transactions, and explore financial impacts of potential opportunities
- Contribute to the month and quarter-end close process in a timely and accurate manner according to GAAP
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly P&L files for presentation to Senior Management
- Establish strong lines of communication within the finance team and with business partners to raise issues and provide insight for decision making
- Proactively identify system and process improvements to drive efficiency and effectiveness and propose solutions to complex/ambiguous problems
- Part Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) or Bachelor's degree in Business/Economics with an emphasis in finance or accounting with a strong GPA
- 2-3 years Relevant work experience
- Demonstrated ability to interpret financial data with excellent analytical and critical thinking skills; identifying trends, interpreting data and translating into actionable information
- Demonstrated effective communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills working with multiple peer groups and levels of management
- A proactive team player with a "can do attitude"
- Knowledge of GAAP principles, accounting skills, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint
- SAP, BI, Power BI, EPM experience would be helpful
- Ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, dynamic, ever-growing and often ambiguous environment
