About the Role & Team

As a Water Sciences Project Specialist, you will manage and support projects to maintain the 12 million gallons of water located between Epcot, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Aulani, and Castaway Cay.  This role will be focused on smaller scale projects to make system improvement for the operations, chemistry, and analyst teams within Water Sciences.

This is a Full-Time role where you will report to the Water Sciences Project Manager & Engineer.

What You Will Do

  • Manage a dedicated portfolio of multi-discipline projects on Water Science systems
  • Perform technical calculations and analysis to aid in system trouble shooting
  • Assist in the management of large-scale projects and future work planning
  • Perform as an owner’s representative for Water Sciences on work managed by other partners
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders to develop project schedules and downtimes
  • Lead project related meetings such as design reviews, site walks, and coordination discussions
  • Make project related decisions in partnership with peers and leaders to provide direction to internal and external partners
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, contractors, and partners
  • Coordinate with Integrated Facilities Planning (IFP) for development of future projects

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience with technical drawings and specifications
  • Familiarity with drafting programs and drawing development (e.g. AutoCAD and Revit)
  • Basic understanding of water filtration systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to quickly adjust to changing situations and maintain an open mind to new concepts or ideas
  • Comfort with understanding and conveying project and technical details both verbally and written
  • Ability to manage multiple projects running concurrently
  • Ability to work independently
  • Understanding of project development and management: concept development, estimating and funding, design, bidding for construction, scheduling, budget tracking, and field management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with Engineering with preference to Mechanical Engineering.
  • Previous experience with project management and the construction industry

Education

  • Associate's Degree in Sciences or related field
  • Bachelor's Degree in Sciences or related field preferred
