The ideal candidate is an experienced and well-rounded test automation engineer with direct experience with the Clarity platform (version 16.2+). Under minimal direction, the Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing code that automates quality assurance and testing activities to ensure that supported applications meet design specifications, are scalable and reliable, and meet total quality management criteria and standards. This individual will have a consistent record of leading automation strategy and execution for a complex web-based application, Clarity, that is at the core of Portfolio and Project Management for the organization. We are seeking an impactful and motivated individual who will drive efficiency and consistency of quality through defining supervising quality assurance metrics. 

Responsibilities:

  • Partners with various product and engineering teams to define requirements and ensure testability of DX MyPPM application and integrations.

  • Designs, develops, deploys and implements automation code to create tools, unit tests, test scripts, test harnesses, and other infrastructure for validating web-based and/or mobile applications, libraries, drivers, and interfaces.

  • Develops and implements moderate to highly complex automated tests for frontend & backend components to improve quality and development velocity.

  • Builds, implements and maintains automated test plans, test cases and test scripts to support all testing cycles. 

  • Diagnoses issues, report defects, and proposes regression tests to prevent recurring bugs.

  • Mentors more junior members of the team to ramp up on automation concepts and support expanding automation coverage.

  • Ensures the integrity of the QA process by promoting standards and advocating the use of industry standard processes.

  • Validates and helps define acceptance criteria in system.

  • Take ownership over automation efforts, including designing or customizing automation tools as needed.

  • Develops feature code and supports other engineering efforts when not working on test-based code.

  • Designs critical automated validation routines and test automation scripts based upon industry standard methodologies or production problem analyses.

  • Analyzes data requirements for test coverage, and defines routines and solutions to create test data to meet automation requirements. 

  • Analyzes infrastructure or system level requirements, and defines automation or scripts to validate infrastructure and middleware requirements.

  • Quickly translates technical requirements and product goals into appropriate code and automated tests.

  • Uses continuous integration tools like Jenkins, Xcode Server, and VS Build Server to help run test targets, create reports, and support other users of the tools.

  • Participates in agile planning, estimation, and documentation for team projects.

  • Supports validations of periodic upgrades from vendor of web and app-based applications.

  • Is responsible for final checks and releases code to production. 

  • Assists in setting goals, benchmarks, milestones and project plans for automation and tracking against these plans. 

  • Advises leadership of regular progress and ongoing application quality through various reporting metrics.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in a dedicated quality assurance (QA) role responsible for testing of complex systems. 

  • 5+ years of experience defining, developing & executing: QA test automation approach, QA test automation strategy, QA test automation processes - as well as - developing/maintaining automated test scripts for a large organization using Selenium, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) 

  • Proven programming skills using Java or Python to support test automation with Selenium and RPA

  • Experience with Software development technologies (web servers, web scripting languages, multi-tier architectures).

  • Experience with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins, Xcode Server, and VS Build Server

  • Proficiency in developing and deploying code using industry-standard test automation tools and frameworks, such as Selenium, Python, Java, Robot Framework

  • Proficiency with Enterprise Project Portfolio Management tools, specifically the Broadcom Clarity “Modern UX” (version 16.2+) platform.

  • Experience with test automation of web-based applications

  • Proven ability to mentor other team members in test automation principles and execution

  • Expert level experience with Oracle SQL and queries to validate data

  • Prior experience working on an agile delivery team

  • Demonstrated ability to define test automation goals from business requirements

  • Strong communication, presentation, and collaboration with teams to produce quality work 

  • Excellent analytical, debugging and technical problem-solving skills

  • Experience with PCI and PII security testing processes.

  • Tools: Solid working knowledge of Confluence and JIRA agile tools as well as the MS Office Suite

  • Experience with GITHUB/GITLAB for code source and versioning control

Preferred Qualifications:

  • iOS/Android Development or QE experience a plus

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems or related equivalent experience. 

Preferred Education:

  • Master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or related equivalent experience.

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA/Anaheim, CA is $138,900 - $186,200 per year and in Seattle, WA is $145,400 - $195,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
