About the Role & Team
This is an hourly role supporting the activities of the Guest Animal Experience Education team at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, and/or Epcot, and off-property within the local community. As an Education Coordinator you will assist managers in training, assessing, mentor, scheduling, and supervising a team of frontline Education Cast Members. You will coordinate the day-to-day operation of animal and nature-based guest experiences, including day guest experiences and revenue generating tours. You will partner effectively with managers and fellow Guest Animal Experience Education Coordinators to develop educational experiences crafted to promote wildlife and conservation awareness and action messaging while maintaining a structured and flawless operation for both Cast and Guests.

You will report to the Education Manager.
What You Will Do
Coordinate all aspects of guest experiences at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, and/or Epcot, and off-property within the local community
Train and mentor a team of frontline Education Cast Members supporting guest experiences and ensure all vital materials are available and show ready
Fulfill all the functions and responsibilities of the frontline Education Cast Members
Partner with Education Managers on design, implementation, and maintenance of content and training materials, research the most up-to-date information regarding animals and conservation topics, and act as a liaison with park and resort partners to ensure flawless experiences
Act as a positive role model for all Cast and Guests
Required Qualifications & Skills
Minimum six months of Walt Disney World experience
Ability to excel in an extremely dynamic, fast-paced, diverse and team-oriented environment
Proven strong Guest Service skills, with a focus on The 5 Keys Basics
Ability to walk/stand for long periods of time outdoors on uneven terrain and in all weather conditions
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Flexible work schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
A valid US driver’s license for a minimum of 5 years and ability to acquire a FL driver’s license
Operating a company vehicle, including a 15-passenger van and mini-bus
Ability to successfully complete Basic First Aid and CPR training
Strong presentation skills & ability to present information to guests in an informal setting
Demonstrated strong conservation and environmental knowledge, with the ability to appropriately message to all guests
Organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
Comfortable with coaching others, mentoring and partnering skills
Computer proficiency and willingness to learn new software applications
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with training and development
Experience supervising others in a professional work environment
Experience conducting informal education programs
Solid problem solving and decision making skills
Dedication towards teamwork
In depth knowledge of individual learning styles and preferences
Experience working in a zoo, aquarium, or nature center
Proficient in multiple languages
Preferred Education
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Environmental Education, Biology, Marine Biology, Zoology, Horticulture, or a related field
