The Costuming Manager will support our Production Support team. This role is responsible for leading the team to be consistent in the delivery of various documents pertinent to the costume production process. This includes that the documents themselves are also consistent and meet our Disney Live Entertainment documentation guidelines. Candidates will work with product lifecycle management software and related technology.

The Costuming Manager will report to the Area Manager of Costume Production.

This is a Full-Time role.

What You Will Do

  • Provide daily leadership, coaching, and mentoring to a team of direct & indirect reports, including ensuring the team receives accurate training and understands their role and how to perform it accurately

  • Track and report out on projects inclusive of monitoring project hours

  • Experience with collective bargaining agreements

  • Review and prepare workflow, resource needs, and action plans while ensuring efficiency, quality, and customer service standards are met

  • Look for areas of opportunity to improve efficiency for the organization and strive for consistent processes within Disney Live Entertainment Costuming.

  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and implementing standards and procedures and aligning with Company guidelines

  • Partner and provide timely communication to all team members

  • Establish a collaborative and supportive working relationship with co-workers and support staff across all levels of the organization, and across partnering disciplines

  • Proactively identify operational issues, recommend and implement strategies to resolve

  • Facilitate meetings with various partners to gain an understanding of various projects and results

  • Keep informed of new and emerging technologies that could improve current business practices

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 1+ years leadership experience such as Coordinator, Crew Chief, Lead, Trainer, etc.

  • 1+ years experience with Collective Bargaining agreements

  • Experience in planning, problem-solving, conflict resolution, influencing, and negotiating

  • Experience prioritizing and multitasking a variety of workflows

  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction

  • Experience delivering direct written and oral feedback and communication to all levels of partners (written and/or verbal)

  • Ability to travel between work locations in a given day

  • Ability to work around all types of fabrics, fibers, and synthetic furs

  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, nights, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite

  • Experience with costume/asset/photo documentation  

  • Experience with Walt Disney World Collective Bargaining agreements

  • Experience with SAP, Yunique (PLM), JIRA, GUS+, and other industry-specific programs and how they work with one another

  • Experience in the apparel industry

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required  

  • Advanced degree in Apparel Manufacturing, Business Management or related fields is preferred
