Job Duties and Responsibilities
Senior Radio Frequency Engineer sought by DISH Wireless in Glen Allen, VA.
Perform Radio Frequency design activities related to building the first standalone 5G broadband network in the US. Optimize the end-to-end Radio Frequency design, propagation modeling and prediction, for a Macro Cell deployment. Determine equipment and power configurations. Work with eNB/RAN and UE teams on RF solutions including modifications to RF link budgets on a per site level basis to meet operations requirements. Perform site candidate evaluation and selection as well as site walks. Work with Management to establish design criteria, link budget and traffic analysis as needed for network design and update existing performance parameters for ongoing improvements. Coach and review the work of lower-level professionals. Establish and maintain operational plans that will have an impact on the achievement of functional results. Develop solutions to multiplex Radio Frequency Engineering issues that require the use of ingenuity and innovation.

Job requirements:
Requires: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or a closely related field plus 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate work experience in job offered or similar role. Also requires 5 years of work experience with/using the following (which may have been gained concurrently):
- Cellular/Mobile Technology including 4G or 5G NR theory.
- Macro and small cell nominal and final Radio Frequency design and optimization including development, equipment co-location, intermodulation calculations, operations, Radio Frequency KPIs, and upkeep of Radio Frequency link budgets for 3GPP standard, while providing Radio Frequency support to Site Acquisition and Site Construction teams.
- Setting up, calibration, utilization and data processing of various LTE design and optimization equipment and applications.
- Drive test data analysis using data post-processing, map generation, frequency planning and interference matrix analysis and site database upkeep using tools such as Windcatcher or Actix or Accuver.
- Using propagation/planning tools such as Planet or Atoll.

Rate of pay: $152,110.00
