Job Duties and Responsibilities

A DISH Wireless Network Observability Development Engineer leads the solution to any problem or issue with an automation-first mindset, utilizing a crawl/walk/run approach toward implementation. A successful design must result in a tool that is hyper-intuitive and will fetch data the user needs before they ask.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build geospatial dashboards to communicate customer-impacting outages and recovery in real-time.
  • Develop dashboards using Network Health logs, scripts, and alert systems across CORE, Transport, RAN, and Platform.
  • Create fault and performance metrics dashboards to track network health and flag anomalies.
  • Design visualizations to assist Tier 1 & Tier 2 operations in troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Support advanced troubleshooting, KPI excellence, and compliance through observability tools and dashboards.
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship while maintaining robust, scalable, and reliable dashboards.

Skills, Experience and Requirements

As a successful Senior Engineer, you will have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of scripting experience with Python, Javascript, Grafana, NodeJS, React, and related tools.
  • 3+ years in event-driven engineering, with AIOps/AI/ML platform experience preferred.
  • 3+ years working with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Airflow, Gitlab, Jenkins).
  • Strong ownership of work, code documentation, and lifecycle management.
  • Excellent communication skills, team player, and comfortable leading troubleshooting and post-event reports.
Salary Ranges

Compensation: $96,250.00/Year - $137,500.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
