Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Administration of CAAS/Cloud resources, operating systems, applications, and Kubernetes clusters.
- Manage Kubernetes clusters, including provisioning, scaling, and managing containers across multiple environments.
- Develop and implement Helm charts or YAML files to streamline Kubernetes deployments.
- Automate cluster monitoring, upgrades, and security patches to ensure high availability.
- Develop and implement scripts to manage Kubernetes-based operational and administrative needs.
- Proactively identify and recommend updates to Kubernetes clusters and architecture to optimize resource utilization and scalability.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including Kubernetes architecture diagrams and standard operating procedures.
- Troubleshoot and triage Kubernetes-related issues, including networking, storage, and container lifecycle management.
- Build automated incident responses within Kubernetes to minimize manual interventions.
- Participate in Scrum team activities, contributing to Kubernetes-related design and automation efforts.
- Associate's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field; two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2 or more years of experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) or related cloud technologies.
- Hands-on experience managing Kubernetes clusters, deploying microservices, and handling container orchestration in a production environment.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes networking, ingress controllers, service mesh, and persistent storage management.
- Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively to clarify requirements, troubleshoot Kubernetes issues, and identify innovative solutions.
- Ability to assist in documenting requirements and resolving conflicts or ambiguities related to Kubernetes environments.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Extensive experience with Kubernetes, including tools like Helm, Prometheus, FluentBit, and operators for cluster management.
- 1 or more years of experience in programming or scripting using Ansible, Python, Perl, or BASH scripting to automate Kubernetes operations.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, deploying Kubernetes applications using GitLab or Jenkins.
- Strong experience in container runtime management (Docker, containerd) and troubleshooting Kubernetes workloads.
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of Agile at Scale, SAFe, and Lean Systems Engineering methodologies.
