Job Duties and Responsibilities
EchoStar is seeking an experienced Retail Wireless Security Architect to ensure the security of its retail wireless business, specifically the BOOST brand. This role is critical in designing, securing, and advancing EchoStar's wireless capabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for architecting security frameworks, guiding initiatives from concept to intake, and collaborating both internally and with industry partners to develop innovative security solutions. The position requires a deep understanding of the threat landscape, consumer identity and access management, MVNO security, cyber fraud, and supply chain security. The architect will also be responsible for ensuring a secure infrastructure for BOOST retail stores.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consumer Identity and Access Management (I AM) Architecture: Design and implement a secure authentication workflow for BOOST consumers that balances industry-leading security measures with minimal consumer friction. Develop a roadmap for enhancing customer identity management and authentication capabilities
- MVNO Security: Oversee the security of Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) integrations with EchoStar's Digital Operator Platform, ensuring seamless and secure connectivity with third-party wireless providers
- CyberFraud Prevention: Innovate and deploy cybersecurity controls to reduce or eliminate fraud in the cellular space. Work closely with fraud management teams and external partners to implement state-of-the-art technologies and strategies for cyber fraud detection and prevention
- Supply Chain Security: Ensure robust security controls are integrated into the procurement and management of supply chain vendors that provide products and services to the retail wireless division. Collaborate with vendors to enforce EchoStar's security standards and policies
- Retail Store Security: Develop and implement security frameworks that protect BOOST retail stores. Establish security policies and procedures that safeguard physical and digital retail environments, including store network security, POS systems, and customer data privacy
- Threat Landscape Research: Continuously research emerging threats and vulnerabilities in the wireless industry. Partner with industry organizations, government entities, and security forums to stay ahead of new attack vectors and implement proactive measures
- Cross-Organizational Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams including IT, legal, compliance, risk management, and business units to ensure cohesive security policies and risk mitigation strategies are in place
- Security Initiatives Intake: Facilitate the intake of security initiatives by providing clear security requirements, participating in project reviews, and ensuring security measures are incorporated into new wireless product offerings
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience with a focus on wireless security, mobile networks, information security architecture, and/or retail environments
Skills and Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of consumer identity and access management (IAM), mobile network security, MVNO integration, and supply chain security practices
- Proven experience designing and implementing cybersecurity controls to mitigate fraud and other cyber threats
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners
- Ability to stay current with the latest industry trends, security vulnerabilities, and attack vectors
Compensation: $127,050.00/Year - $181,500.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
