Job Duties and Responsibilities

As a Field Engineer II, you'll be out in the field keeping our facilities and equipment in top form by maintaining multiple locations in your assigned area. You will be in charge of post construction checks, single site verification, commissioning, site acceptance, testing and maintaining cell sites and edge and local data center installations. You will also be evaluating our network coverage and finding ways to make it even better.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate, maintain, and perform preventative maintenance on cell site equipment, supporting all aspects of the wireless network
  • Configure CU-CP, CU-UP, and CSR functions, deploy through VMWare Telco Cloud, and troubleshoot failures in configuration
  • Conduct site inspections and validate breaker placement, GPS, backhaul connections, and commissioning readiness
  • Perform single site verification (VSWR, PIM, RET checks) using EXFO, ensuring correct fiber connections and identifying faulty radios
  • Collaborate with RF, microwave, and transport teams to resolve network issues, support construction, commissioning, and SLAs
  • Maintain compliance with DISH standards, ensure accurate inventory, submit reports, and act as a technical leader for continuous improvement
Skills, Experience and Requirements

Education and Experience:
  • 4+ years of experience in telecommunications with direct experience in RAN, 4G LTE and 5G cell site troubleshooting, and testing
  • Familiarity with testing protocols for transport, RF, base-station turn-up, commissioning, and validation
  • A technical degree in Electronics or Telecommunications or a combination of military and industry experience will be considered


Skills and Qualifications:
  • Skilled in troubleshooting antenna systems, base station equipment, and fiber networks, with tools like spectrum analyzers, OTDR, and fiberscopes
  • Experienced in PIM, VSWR, MIMO, and RET, with knowledge of LTE/CDMA tech and remote radio heads from major vendors like Nokia and Ericsson
  • Strong telecom background in T1, DACS, and OMP, with proficiency in DC power systems and electronics in telecom and microwave radio
  • Computer troubleshooting skills, knowledge of DC power systems, and ability to read technical drawings and MOPs
  • Adaptable to nonstandard hours, frequent travel (up to 50%), and capable of physically demanding tasks
  • Effective communicator, able to prioritize, work independently or in teams, and excel in problem-solving

Salary Ranges

Compensation: $72,350.00/Year - $103,400.00/Year
