As a 5G ORAN Field Engineer, you'll be out in the field keeping our facilities and equipment in top form by maintaining multiple locations in your assigned area. You will be in charge of post construction checks, single site verification, commissioning, site acceptance, testing and maintaining cell sites and edge and local data center installations. You will also be evaluating our network coverage and finding ways to make it even better.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate, maintain, and perform preventative maintenance on all wireless network cell site equipment.
  • Support and deploy CU-CP and CU-UP using VMWare Telco Cloud Automation, troubleshooting remote config failures.
  • Inspect site cabinets, validate breaker placement, GPS, backhaul fiber, and overall site readiness.
  • Perform single site verification with EXFO tools, checking VSWR, PIM, RET, fiber connections, and faulty radios.
  • Collaborate with RF, construction, microwave, and transport teams to resolve network integration and commissioning issues.
  • Maintain inventory records, submit reports, resolve network tickets within SLAs, and ensure compliance with installation standards.
Skills, Experience and Requirements

Education and Experience:
  • 3-5 years of telecommunications experience with expertise in RAN, 4G LTE troubleshooting, and testing.
  • Proficient in transport, RF, base station turn-up, commissioning, and validation protocols.
  • Skilled in antenna system troubleshooting using spectrum analyzers and optimizing base station and fiber network equipment.
  • Expertise in PIM, VSWR, MIMO, RET, and LTE remote radio heads, with experience in fiber network integration.
  • Hands-on experience with base station equipment from Lucent, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, or Ericsson, and telecom technologies like T1, DACS, or OMP.


Skills and Qualifications:
  • Preferred training in data communications, digital communications, operating systems, scripting, or project management.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% domestically and work nonstandard hours as needed.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, including as-builts, construction plans, and MOPs.
  • Physical capability to stand, walk, bend, crawl, work at heights, and lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Intermediate computer skills, with experience in general applications and Google Suite preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • A technical degree in Electronics or Telecommunications or a combination of military and industry experience will be considered

Salary Ranges

Compensation: $95,634.00/Year - $136,620.00/Year
