Job Duties and Responsibilities

Data Engineer sought by DISH Wireless LLC in Littleton, CO.

Lead the development and implementation of the organization's centralized cloud-based data mart. Architect the data platform, build efficient data pipelines, identify centralized sources of truth, and root causing complex upstream data quality/data lineage issues. Lead development of high-volume, low-latency, data solutions to support operational processes, analytics, and reporting use cases in an efficient and scalable manner. Take technical ownership of the RWP data mart roadmap, architecture, and its successful delivery, including sources, flows, capabilities, and performance. Partner with IT, the Business Intelligence team, and non-technical functional stakeholders to define needs and improve the data platform. Design and build mechanisms to manage streaming disparate data from a wide variety of sources. Define and evaluate key tasks and acceptance criteria of data systems from development to production. Establish standards and evaluate the efficiency, performance, and scalability of data pipelines and the platform overall. Normalize complicated data sources to convert potentially unusable data into a format that can be efficiently used across the organization. Be responsible for optimizing and automating existing processes, refactoring code, establishing standards, writing documentation, and partnering with IT and DBAs to troubleshoot and minimize failures/downtime.

Job requirements:

Requires: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related field plus 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or as Hadoop Developer, Commercial Quality Assurance, Graduate Assistant, and Big Data Hadoop Developer. Also requires 3 years of experience with/using the following (which may have been gained concurrently):

  • SQL, Data Modeling, Data Warehouse, and ETL.
  • Cloud, AWS, Snowflake, Python, and R

Rate of pay: $144,206.00
