As a Big Data Operations Engineer you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing the infrastructure and processes involved in handling large volumes of data. In this role your primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of big data systems, typically within organizations dealing with massive datasets. Key aspects of their role include designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and reliable data architectures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evangelist for data engineering function leveraging Big Data framework
- Monitoring data pipeline
- Support our software engineers and data scientists
- Contribute to our cloud strategy based on prior experience
- Independently work with all stakeholders across the organization to deliver enhanced functionality
- Monitor Jobs using Oozie, Control M
- Generate alerts for frequent job failures and come up with automation
- Work with offshore team
- Respond to emails, job failure within defined SLA
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience in advanced Spark/Java programming. Specifically, monitoring Big Data data engineering jobs.
- 2+ years SQL experience using Hive/Impala framework including SQL performance tuning
- Must be from a Data warehouse/Big Data background.
- Knowledge of using, setting up, and tuning resource management frameworks such as Yarn or Mesos
- Experienced in production support for Big data pipelines, MapReduce framework, Oozie workflows, and scoop Jobs and external schedulers such as Autosys/Control-M
- Experience in maintaining streaming jobs (producers/consumers) using Apache Kafka or AWS Kinesis
- Experience in AWS services such as EMR, Glue, S3, Athena, DynamoDB, IAM, Lambda, Cloud watch
Compensation: $72,400.00/Year - $103,400.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
