Job Duties and Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated AWS DevOps Administrator with a focus on providing solutions for a team dedicated to data engineering and science. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS) while ensuring seamless integration with our development and deployment processes. The DevOps/AWS Administrator will collaborate with cross-functional teams, particularly data engineers and scientists, to enhance system reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- AWS Infrastructure Management:
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable and highly available AWS infrastructure tailored for data engineering and science needs
- Implement and maintain various AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and others as required for data-intensive applications
- Configure and manage VPCs, security groups, and IAM roles to ensure a secure and compliant environment
- Automation and Configuration Management:
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation to streamline provisioning and deployment processes for data workflows
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery and updates, with a focus on data engineering and science applications
- Monitoring and Performance Optimization:
- Set up monitoring tools to track system performance, analyze trends, and troubleshoot issues promptly, specifically for data-intensive workloads
- Conduct regular performance assessments and implement optimizations to enhance system efficiency in processing large datasets
- Security and Compliance:
- Enforce security best practices and implement measures to safeguard the AWS infrastructure
- Stay current with AWS security updates and industry best practices to ensure compliance with security standards, particularly those relevant to data handling
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with development, data engineering, and operations teams to understand project requirements and provide optimal infrastructure solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve overall system performance, with a focus on data engineering and science needs
- Disaster Recovery Planning:
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in the event of system failures
- Conduct periodic testing and drills to validate the effectiveness of the disaster recovery plans
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent experience
- Proven experience as a DevOps or AWS Administrator
- In-depth knowledge of AWS services and architecture
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., Bash, Python, Terraform, Ansible)
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., ArgoCD, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline)
- Strong understanding of security best practices in cloud environments
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or related certifications
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with microservices architecture
- Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols
- Experience working with data engineering and science teams, and understanding of their specific infrastructure needs
Compensation: $72,400.00/Year - $103,400.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
