Job Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:
  • Oversee design, deployment, and lifecycle management of Dish 5G Standalone Core Network functions (NRF, BSF, PCF, SEPP, SCP) with AWS.
  • Align 5G Core Network vendor product roadmaps with DISH business requirements and maintain the network deployment document repository.
  • Review and certify deployment and upgrade MoPs, collaborating with AWS, IP Engineering, and RAN teams for lifecycle management.
  • Troubleshoot production issues with NOC and vendors, support device and chipset roadmap testing, and ensure 5G roaming readiness.
  • Work with IT/OSS/BSS and Charging teams to define PCF rules/policies, and engage vendors to debug complex network issues.
  • Establish and enhance KPIs with performance engineering teams and provide input for network automation and proactive monitoring.

Skills, Experience and Requirements

As a successful 5G Core Signaling Engineer II, you will have:

Education and Experience:
  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a similar field
  • Minimum 2+ years of prior experience on the vendor or operator side leading the design, deployment & evolution of core network elements related to 5G signaling (NRF, BSF, PCF, SEPP, SCP)


Skills and Qualifications:
  • Basic understanding of 5G Standalone Core Network Architecture, Call Flows, and IMS architecture.
  • Experience in Systems Test roles and deploying 5G signaling nodes/IMS applications on Kubernetes.
  • Proficient in using Engineering documentation (CIQ, Deployment Templates, Methods of Procedure) for deployments and upgrades with CICD.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with knowledge of call flows and packet captures, able to propose solutions.
  • Knowledge of SBA, IMS, SIP, Diameter, RTP, Mobile IP, Sigtran, SS7, and 5G Protocols.
  • Capable of managing vendors for operational issues and new project deployment without daily guidance.
Salary Ranges

Compensation: $83,160.00/Year - $115,000.00/Year
