Job Description:
The Senior Manager, Process Engineering role is an integral part of the newly formed Partner Enablement Transformation organization, a centralized team charged with setting direction for large-scale transformation initiatives. The team is set to modernize operations within the Payments business unit via benchmarking, current state analysis, re-design, strategic road mapping & risk management.

The successful individual will report to the Director, Transformation Strategy and will lead a team of process engineers tasked with assessing current state of complex legacy processes and designing significant improvements guided by drive to radical simplification and subsequent automation. In addition to process analysis and re-design, the individual will guide creation of success metrics to quantify degree of improvement and resulting business impact.
What You'll Do
- Responsible for managing business processes. Responsible for maximizing process efficiency and reducing losses which directly impact Discover's bottom-line. This position requires the candidate to use critical thinking as well as design, develop, and maintain critical processes necessary for the continued success of Operations department and the company.
- Develops and coaches teams to be able to identify, manage, and escalate risk, and effectively manages risk within the teams you oversee.
How You'll Do It
- Develops and presents relevant information and provide insights to Sr. Management.
- Manages process engineering and optimization of existing and new processes.
- Manages a team to create a highly effective and collaborative team to deliver optimal results.
- Manages vendor relations as applicable to process including; tracks and controls performance, manages invoicing and perform annual performance reviews
Qualifications You'll Need
The Basics
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Management, Engineering, Statistics, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in Designing and engineering process; experience with large change management efforts or related
- 2+ years of experience in People Management
- 2+ years of Project Management with exposure to large scale projects
- In lieu of a degree, 12+ years of experience in Designing and engineering process; experience with large change management efforts or related

- Master's Degree in Business Administration and Management, Engineering, Statistics, or related field
- PMP Certification
- Lean Six Sigma certification
- Process orientation: ability to understand and visualize relationships between activities and their underlying intents and related data flows
- Expert facilitation: ability to engage subject matter experts to 'download' expertise for analysis and focus on asking the right questions
- Bias for action: ability to turn analysis into actionable improvement roadmaps with evidenced results

Compensation:
The base pay for this position generally ranges between $106,000.00 to $178,800.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
