What You'll Do
Serves as an expert and adviser to Discover's senior leaders regarding their search needs. Responsible for the developing credibility and rapport with senior external candidates while coaching them through their career transitions. Creates a culture of effective risk management, accountability, and demonstration of risk awareness across the organization.

How You'll Do It
- Deeply understands the functional/technical competencies and cultural needs for senior roles at Discover. Likewise, deeply understands the external candidate landscape including candidate behaviors and expectations, effective outreach channels, and yield. Provides market intelligence to senior business leaders regarding talent supply and demand trends. Creates senior level hiring strategy using external research and candidate insights. Demonstrates superior and creative market mapping and sourcing skills. Develops search criteria for senior job specifications and identifies target organizations and candidates. Conducts in-depth preliminary screening interviews of candidates and creates detailed candidate biography to the business. Drives de-brief conversations among senior leaders. Facilitates outcome decision and manages next steps in the candidate process.
- Successfully networks and engages with senior internal and external talent. Effectively manages senior level opinions and direction changes. Champions strong candidates even when they are not obvious to Discover leaders. Demonstrates ability to change senior opinion as appropriate. Sells external candidates on Discover. Demonstrates ability to manage candidate objections and re-frame selling points. Builds alliance with candidates to understand external motivators. Analyzes market and internal compensation data to make offer recommendations. Leads negotiations strategy. Manages the executive candidate experience and candidate on-boarding process including complex relocation arrangements.
- Manages third party external search partners as required. Negotiates contracts and manages performance. Advises on internal or external search model for each search.
- Drives top performance from team members against goals and objectives. Develops a department that is flexible and can quickly respond to changing priorities. Provides meaningful reporting to the business on fills, sources, and referrals. Champions HR-wide initiatives. Partners well with other HR Centers of Excellence, HR Consultants, and HR Operations. Qualifications You'll Need
The Basics
Education
- Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Human Resources, Business Administration and Management or Related
Work Experience
- 10+ years Recruiting or Equivalent
- 5+ years Executive Recruiting
- 5+ years People Management
In Lieu of Education Experience
- 12+ years Recruiting

Compensation:
The base pay for this position generally ranges between $150,500.00 to $228,900.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
