Job Description:

Discover's Business Technology Internship Program offers exciting internship opportunities for highly motivated individuals who are interested in exploring a host of disciplines within Discover. Participants will work on challenging initiatives in a sought-after work environment and culture. Individuals selected will be matched to projects across the enterprise, in the many different business areas/disciplines within Discover business units. They will be challenged to exercise and expand their critical thinking and problem-solving skills, working alongside proven leaders on projects and strategic initiatives aligned with Discover's high-priority goals.

Participants can expect:

What You'll Do

  • Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.

How You'll Do It

  • Interact with teammates, clients, business partners, management and external partners to complete technology projects.
  • Collaborates on code reviews and process enhancements and assists peers in debugging or troubleshooting.
  • Increase knowledge of working with coding languages like Java, JavaScript, Python and SQL and technologies/platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Ansible, Datadog, Github, Jenkins, Kafka, Spring/SpringBoot, React, Kubernetes/OCP, Terraform, and more.
  • Acquire broad business knowledge and experience while working on cross-functional initiatives.
  • Leverage agile software development methodologies to define and review business requirements for new services, functions, or applications.
  • Gain industry and organizational knowledge, leadership communication techniques, create a personal brand, and build an internal network of career contacts.

Qualifications You'll Need
The Basics

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited 4-year college or university

Compensation:
The base pay for this role is $41.00/hour. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
