Balcones Distilling is a grain-to-glass full production distillery in Waco, Texas that specializes in American Single Malt and Single Grain whiskies. Diageo is looking for a team-oriented, organized, and driven individual to join the Balcones Distillery Warehouse Team.

SCOPE OF THE ROLE
The Warehouse Team Member will work on our production floor and in our warehouses from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, but will also be cross trained in other departments. Our company is growing rapidly, and the schedule may change with accelerating production.
Candidates MUST be serious about safety, quality, and attention to detail. A good candidate will also need to lift up to 60 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally, be able to endure prolonged standing, squatting, walking, stooping, pushing, and pulling in hot, humid, and cold environments.
PAY RATE: $18.20/hour
WORK LOCATION: 225 S. 11th Street, Waco, TX 76701; 200 Aviation Parkway, Waco, TX 76705
SCHEDULE: Plant runs 7 days a week, but warehousing is currently scheduled 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. This role may include weekend and/or extended shifts in the future.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Report directly to the Warehouse Team Lead
- Transfer, gauge, and proof bulk spirits prior to barreling/bottling operations
- Palletize, fill, transport, and store barrels in our warehouses
- Load and unload barrels, pallets, and other materials from box trucks and trailers
- Collect, label, and deliver samples for blending, batch analysis, and quality control
- Dump barrels as directed for final blends and special projects
- Repair, condition, store, and organize empty barrel inventory
- Maintain complete and accurate records for all maturation activities, and promptly file all paperwork
- Perform quarterly reviews of all barrel inventory, and correct records as needed
- Monitor and operate facilities equipment including electric and pneumatic pumps, valves, hoses, scales, and TC/camlock attachments
- Promptly report any mechanical issues to the Asset Care Manager & Warehouse Team Lead
- Maintain cleanliness in office and production areas pertaining to Warehouse operations
- Monitor and report inventory for tools, components, and other warehousing materials to ensure all necessary materials are continuously stocked
In addition to these responsibilities, the warehouse team member will often be asked to assist other departments. The following list is not exhaustive, but the team member may also:
- Operate and maintain equipment in the brewhouse
- Take gravities, adjust temperatures, and pitch yeast into fermentation vessels
- Assist senior team members in special WH projects
- Break down samples in our blending room and rinse/wash blending glassware
- Write on labels, case bottles, package add-on products, prepare orders for shipment, work the bottling line as needed
REQUIREMENTS
- An eagerness to learn and accept direction
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making and critical thinking skills
- The ability to work in hot, humid, and cold conditions for extended periods
- Strong written and verbal communication ability
- Commitment to workplace safety and passion for product quality
- A flexible schedule and willingness to make schedule changes on short notice in the case of equipment failure or other unforeseen circumstances
- The ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, barrel rickers, and related attachments safely; training provided
- A willingness to perform other jobs and help other employees in the distillery as needed
- Experience with inventory control
