About the role

Blackgrange is a key site within the Scotch spirit supply chain. The site consists of warehousing, disgorging for malt and grain spirits. It is a very busy site, taking spirit in cask from the filling stores and supplying whisky to packaging and third parties. Blackgrange warehousing consists of traditional, rack and pallet cask operations.

  • As an Operator within our dedicated team at Blackgrange, you'll play a pivotal role in the whisky supply process and will oversee and control the safe movement of spirit within an established set of process procedures.

  • You'll support a range of operator activities on site. Typically you'll be supporting a range of activities across site, including warehousing, filling, disgorging and empty cask movement.

  • Health and safety compliance is key, and you'll be at the forefront of making sure this is supervised alongside other key performance indicators and targets including production quality and HMRC compliance.

  • This role will typically entail physical manual handling activities, the wearing of personal protective equipment, frequent bending, twisting, turning, stooping, with some over-reaching and standing for long periods of time. Some aspects of the role also entail working with vibration equipment, working at height and working alone.

What you'll bring

  • We're looking for someone who can work well within a team as well as the ability to make effective decisions and thrive in situations where they can solve problems.

  • The most important attribute will be to have the right behavioural skills, which demonstrate a "Can Do" attitude and an ability to challenge appropriately as well as a proactive and committed approach to continual self-development and learning.

  • You'll make this role your own. We want you to push forward your own ideas about improvements to current approaches and appraise new opportunities. This role presents a great opportunity to make a positive difference to manufacturing excellence and showcase your excellent communication skills.

  • You'll be working alongside both internal and external partners to achieve shared and individual goals.

  • Ideally you'll have demonstrable knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and environmental risk principles.

Skills and proficiency are things that matter to Diageo, and so we'd love to hear from candidates from a wide range of backgrounds and experience who are passionate about transferring those skills to a role with us.
