About the Function
Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) provides oversight on financial activities and controls including general accounting, management and external reporting and financial planning and analysis. The FP&A organization is responsible for the interpretation of financial and statutory data, the coordination and management of financial and statutory reporting, the management of the P&L and balance sheet delivering solutions that will increase insight and transparency.

The North America Trade Spend team based in Budapest is responsible for supporting the total Diageo North America business. The Team liaises with the various business finance and management teams to lead NAM's finance agenda in various areas through-out the fiscal year.
About the role
The FP&A Manager is responsible for leading North America's Trade Spend budgets-
- Managing expenses in line with agreed financial targets
- Being involved in strategic discussions to deliver encouraged financial outcomes
- Driving monthly forecasting (Risk & Opportunities) process including P&L and AWC/Cash forecasting (high complexity, mainly for TS)
- Getting involved into the TS planning and support Market Teams with relevant information
- Reviewing IFRS 15 adjustments and supporting Senior Management in the interpretation
- Ensuring H1/FY financial landing is led at a very rigorous level with all key business partners
- Providing expenses are recorded in an accurate and timely manner by implementing accounting control processes
- Optimizing and driving effectiveness and efficiency in the accounting processes to enable the NAM teams to focus on the commercial agenda
- Continuously participating in the standardization and simplification agenda by sharing Best Practices with peers
- Taking major role in the system developments (e.g: Anaplan/CPS)
- Being involved monthly Balance Sheet reviews and follow up of PY related accrual utilization
- Participate in the integration of newly acquired Brands (e.g.: system requirements, TS specific mentorship, etc.)
The role is responsible for guiding and developing a high-performance team of Trade Spend Analysts; coordinates the work and resolves challenges with Senior Business partners in North America.
North America comprises of three main business divisions (Spirits, Beer, Canada, Non-Alcoholic and Supply) and the Corporate Central functions. While these roles focus on US Spirits, DBC, Canada and Innovation there are times where we need to understand and engage with other business heads to deliver a total NAM picture.
The FP&A Manager will work with senior Finance members of US Spirits, Category Finance, Brand Teams, Innovation, Customer Marketing and external vendors. Also interact with Canada and DBC BUs. In addition, the A&P team works very closely with GBS teams (Bangalore), US Central Spirits and divisions, the Commercial Planning System's team, and the Controller's team
About you
- Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance or Business Administration
- Professional Experience: 7-8 years of dynamic working and management experience in a multinational corporate setting, demonstrating a successful track record in:
- Financial and Management Accounting
- Controlling & Reporting processes
- Driving and leading change initiatives
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Proven track record to work effectively with senior business partners across finance, marketing, sales, and IT functions.
- Accounting Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of accounting standards, including IFRS and US GAAP.
- Communication Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities, coupled with strong organizational and flexibility skills to navigate and influence across the organization.
- Leadership and Coaching: Demonstrated experience in people management with effective leadership and mentor capabilities.
- Shared Services Expertise: Hands-on experience with shared services process activities.
- Project and Change Management: Proficient in leading projects and inspiring change.
- Business Acumen: Solid understanding of business operations and risk assessment.
- Partner Management: Adept at maintaining relationships with senior partners.
- Technical Proficiency: Sophisticated skills in computer applications, specifically SAP and Microsoft Office.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English, with excellent verbal and written proficiency.
